TYC today, delves into the much awaited movie FAN and brings out some unusual. FAN comes with an interesting and unique story and arresting screenplay. It is engaging right from the beginning to the end. The movie revolves around the obsession that a ‘fan’ has for a star. In this psychological thriller movie King Khan plays a dual role __ one as Aryan Khanna __ the star, and the other one as Gaurav, the fan.

The plot is enough to keep a SRK fan glued to the seat. Gaurav is the doppelganger fan who ends at becoming Movie posterobsessed with the star and the striking part is that he looks exactly like Aryan Khanna. Gaurav embarks on a journey from Delhi to Mumbai to wish the star on his birthday. But when things don’t go accordingly, Gaurav’s love and passion for his idol turns into dangerous obsession that crosses the fine line and that is when, director Maneesh Sharma loses his grip on not only his film but also his audience. Gaurav pulls on some unbelievable stunts that are next to impossible. What happens next forms the crux of the movie. The movie serves as a powerful example of cinema’s influence society and individuals. Fan reminds one of famous Hollywood films like Misery and The King of Comedy. The VFX team of Red Chillies Entertainment needs to be congratulated for ingeniously enhancing Gaurav’s prosthetic look through special effects. The movie’s cinematography, editing and music are also noteworthy. Fan has a lot of memorable sequences but the scene that stands out is the one wherein Gaurav deceptively enters into Aryan Khanna’s house and ends up bashing up all his trophies and memorabilia. What distinguishes a great filmmaker from an average filmmaker is that just when the former has things under control, he succeeds in delivering a perfect closure. This movie is about the brittle dynamic between Aryan and the fan, Gaurav and also how the equation changes is for the fans to find out.
